BG2000
ACRYLIC WATERPROOF MEMBRANE
BG2000 is a water-based waterproofing membrane that can be rolled or sprayed in both above or below grade applications. It is a thick rubber like membrane that is extremely flexible and durable that does not require a protection coat, and can withstand backfill, UV rays, freeze/thaw, salt, and other abrasive substances. It is the main functioning coat in THE BG2000 SYSTEM, THE BG2000 UL SYSTEM, and can be used to coat concrete vaults, and many other types of structures.

PREPARE THE SUBSTRATE:
Substrate must be structurally sound and free from grease, oil, dirt, dust, sealers, water repellents and other foreign materials which may interfere with proper bonding. Shot blasting, sand blasting, or water sand blasting with minimum 3500 psi may be necessary over some surfaces to achieve proper bonding. On concrete block or slumpstone walls, all head and bed joints must be free of holes and finished flush with block substrate. For poured in place walls, a waterbase form release must be used. If an oil base release is used, it can be completely removed with trisodium phosphate (TSP), power washed and rinsed.
APPLICATION:
Spray one (1) heavy coat or roll two (2) coats of MULASTICOAT® BG 2000 over area ROLLING: use a 3/4″ nap roller and saturate the roller completely. Heavy coats are recommended. SPRAYING: use an airless paint sprayer, any grade will do. For peak performance, use a .025″ – .027″ spray tip. An easy way to achieve the right coverage when spraying is to mark off a 200 sqft area and use an entire 5 gallon bucket to cover that marked area.

Multicoat Corporation offers a special 5-year Limited Materials Warranty to Trained and Certified Applicators. This Limited Warranty (effective upon date of purchase) protects the Applicator against delamination problems with all Multicoat systems, as well as water intrusion of Multicoat’s Waterproofing System, provided:
1. Multicoat system has been properly applied by a certified applicator.
2. Problem is determined to be due to defect of Multicoat Corporation’s products.
3. Applicator has prepared and filed the required Warranty Information Form(s) with Multicoat Products, Inc. covering the specific customer job(s).
NOTE:
Warranty is not applicable if there is movement or cracking of the underlying base and/or the weight bearing cement covering of the waterproofing membrane.
Failure to adhere to good construction and workmanship practices based on industry standard construction, means, methods, sequences and techniques could result in delamination, debonding and water instrusion for which Multicoat will not be responsible.
The end user must look to the Certified Applicator for satisfaction if any problem develops with the Multicoat system covered by the warranty. Multicoat suggests that the customer:
1. Use only a licensed contractor in good standing (fully bonded).
2. Make certain that the applicator has been certified by Multicoat, prior to work
commencing or certification while on the job. A simple phone call to Multicoat is sufficient to determine if an applicator is certified and if such certification is in
good standing.
In the event that it is determined that the Applicator failed to install the system(s) in accordance with Multicoat’s “instructions for use” or “specifications”, the warranty is void. See specific warranty information below.

Q: Can BG2000 be applied to green concrete?
A: For applications with at least one exposed side, YES. As long as it is firm to touch and cleaned of mold releases and other impurities. Things like: poured in place retaining walls, freshly built block walls, etc. are perfect applications for BG2000.
Q: Is BG2000 oil-based?
A: No, there is no asphalt emulsion in BG2000. Unlike many competitors that claim to be “water-based” but also contain petroleum byproducts, BG2000 is made from 100% Water born acrylics and contains ZERO ASPHALT EMULSION.
Q: Is BG2000 expensive?
A: No, when used in replace of lower end asphalt products consumers see a cost decrease due to its higher coverage rates, lower application time, and clean up time/ease.
Q: How do you bridge expansion joints and wall/floor 90º joints?
A: We recommend embedding a material called Polyester Stitch Bond Fabric into the first coat of BG2000 to act as a reinforcement material for high movement areas. It is an inexpensive way to ensure security and rigidity in areas that may be subject to extreme movement over time.
