The Scratch Kote 2000 System is designed to not only bond new pool surfaces to substrates, but also to enhance the performance of that new surface during its installation, curing, and lifespan. Using large aggregate and enhanced polymer blends, Scratch Kote 2000 grips and sticks as well as resists the elements to prevent delamination. *OPTIONAL - Apply Vapor Shield to the substrate to reduce the green window of concrete, prevent efflorescence, and/or resist hydrostatic pressure coming through wall. Apply with a pump sprayer in conjunction with water, back-to-back. Repeat for a total of 2 coats. Allow 24 hours to dry.

Q: How long until I can apply SCRATCH KOTE 2000 to the pool shell?
A: Once a pool shell is installed, it is best to wait at least 24 hours. For VAPOR SHIELD, you may spray it the moment the shell is hard.
Q: Do I need to remove trim tile prior to application of SCRATCH KOTE 2000?
A: Yes you do. Scuffing the tile will not provide the proper adhesion necessary for proper performance.
Q: Does Scratch Kote 2000 help even the hydration rate of new plaster?
A: Yes, SCRATCH KOTE 2000 aids in even curing and creates even suction to help reduce modeling of plaster and/or pebble pool finishes.
Q: Can Scratch Kote 2000 be applied over exposed rebar?
A: No, you must patch that area of the pool shell with a rust inhibitor like SPEED MIX, then apply the SCRATCH KOTE 2000.
